By Gerard Webster, award-winning author of IN-SI...Paul Revere rides again! Only this time it's in the person of Mark R. Levin, who sounds the warning in LIBERTY AND TYRANNY. The first American Revolution was conducted by British citizens--who were considered by the Crown to be its subjects--but were denied the rights of English citizenship. "Taxation without Representation" was the hue and cry back then. Creeping statism has had the effect of gradually re-attaching the same kind of shackles the Founding Fathers shook off over 200 years ago.
Mark Levin posits a strong case for discovering and re-establishing the core values that formed "One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
It appears that the Statists prefer "multi-culturism" to "one nation." They've removed God (the ten commandments, nativity scenes, and prayer) from the national scene altogether. They divide our unification by pitting one group against another in the class envy demagoguery so prevalent today. They've usurped freedom and self-determination by using the courts to enact legislation. They create enroaching beaurocracies that strangle opportunity and growth. And they've substituted political correctness for "justice."
LIBERTY AND TYRANNY is bound to raise quite a firestorm. On the one hand, Levin may have finally awakened and given voice to the sleeping giant--those who are genuinely alarmed at the rapidly increasing momentum of our downward slide into Statism...and who have too long remained silent.
On the other, the Statists are bound to counter-attack with barbed sound-bytes and libelous labelling. Exposing them to the light of reasoned examination cannot go unpunished.
LIBERTY AND TYRANNY is a "must-read" for every American citizen. The writing is on occasion ponderous; but Levin's incisive insight pierces the confusing fabric of "issues" like a bayonet through a red-coat.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a tea party to attend.
